Impeach the President?

Impeachable Offenses

Article II, Section 4 of the Constitution says, "The President, Vice President and all civil Officers of the United States, shall be removed from Office on Impeachment for, and Conviction of, Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors." In his report, Independent Counsel, Starr accuses President Clinton of committing eleven acts for which he could be removed from office by impeachment. Are any of those acts "Treason, Bribery, or other High Crimes and… Continue

Stop the Insanity!

Our government is out of control. For the first time in my 72 years, through wars, and economic downturns, I feel that our government is teetering on the edge of failure. Insistence on more spending and government control is NOT the answer.

In the name of energy conservation, these expensive wireless meters will be installed on every home,…

Senator Marco Rubio: Tio Tomas or Free Thinker?

I must give kudos to Ruben Navarette for being an equal-opportunity anti-amnesty basher. He goes after Democrats and Republicans who vote against amnesty and has done a good job of documenting (no pun intended) the lengths that Democrats have gone to vote against amnesty despite the overall perception that only Republicans vote against amnesty.

That said, in “Has… Continue

Cut spending or raise the debt ceiling

I am not a proponent of slash and burn.

Our current fiscal policies are worsened by the current loss of jobs and other economic issues the country is currently facing.  During WWII our debt was considerably higher, but the country was willing to tolerate hardships because of the war effort and jobs were not as scarce as they are today.  Immediately after the war, the economy rebounded rapidly and the debt was substantially reduced.

The current spending policies for special…
