June 2019 Patriot's Breakfast: Celebrate 10 Years of the Tea Party! at Wheaton Bowl banquet room

June 8, 2019 from 9am to 11am
Our June Patriot’s Breakfast is Saturday, June 8th, from 9am-11am at the Wheaton Bowl Banquet room. After over 10 years of monthly tea party meetings at Wheaton Bowl, our June 8th Patriot’s Breakfast will be our last meeting at this location. Sadly, Wheaton Bowl will be closing it’s doors forever in June. It has been an institution in the area for around 60 years. Built around 1954, it burned down in the ’70’s, was rebuilt and went on to serve the community for many years. As most of you know,…See More

050716 Statement by Carol Davis, Founder & Coordinator of West Suburban Patriots

As the nation worked it's way through the Presidential Primaries, it became obvious that some in our group either did not know our core principles, or did not believe in and uphold our core principles. This statement was made by Carol Davis at the May 7, 2016 Patriot's Breakfast in order to clarify for everyone what our group stands for, so they could make their decision on whether or not to continue their involvement in our organization.

There is an elephant in the room…

Illegal Immigration: A Christian Response

A compelling and well-cited letter from Cindy Yurachek, regarding the Christian attitude toward illegal immigration:

Dear Pastor Bugh and Pastor McElwee,

I listened to your conversation with Mark Elfstrand on Thursday, September 24 re immigration and Danny Carroll speaking at our church this Sunday, October 25.  I have watched a video of his speaking of immigration as well as read his book, Christians at the Border:  Immigration, the Church, and the Bible and I am very…

Thank you for the introduction and welcome to your group Carol.  I have a son who has gymnastics on Saturday mornings, but will try to arrange for his dad to take him a few times when you are meeting so that I may attend your meetings.

I think I was not clear in mentioning KrisAnne Hall's speaking on the Constitution.  I am not looking for you to put her on your agenda.  I will be running the events individually.  I just wanted to give any like-minded folks a heads up that she is going to be in the area (something that doesn't happen that often) so that if they wish to attend, they may.  There will be no charge, and it's not going to happen until March 2015, so there is plenty of time to think about coming, and put it on the calendar.  It will be a week of talks, one each night.

Monday  - Religious Liberty; Tuesday 2nd Amendment; Wednesday - 4th Amendment; Thursday - 10th Amendment; Friday - State Sovereignty; Saturday - The Genealogy of the Constitution.

What I would like to do is attend your meetings to support and be educated myself, and then around Jan-Feb. 2015 just make an announcement to the group that you are all invited to attend if you would like.

I wish to be honest and state my clear intent up front.  Please let me know if this clarification is useful and whether it sounds appropriate considering the parameters of your group.

Hi Carol,  Do you have Joe Walsh's email address?  I wish to contact him and introduce myself to him.   I wasn't able to talk to him at the IL Tea Party Rally in St. Charles.  I hoping that he will be interested in my bid for IL Comptroller to replace Judy Baar-Topinka.

Thank you for the greeting! Yes, Peg is my aunt and her husband, Bob, told me to look up WSP. I am a veteran and currently serving in the USNR. The more I look into what's going on in this country, the more frustrated it get! I usually serve with my Jr. High Youth Group at church on Tuesday nights, which is why I haven't been at any of the meetings (I've also been in Italy for the last 2 weeks!). I am planning to be at at least 1 meeting a month going forward. My generation has turned into a bunch of "All I care about is me" and it's about time for people to start standing up for what is right. I hope to meet you (and all the other WSP), very soon! Take care and see you soon!

As usual, when I spot a possible WSP lead in a parking lot, I attach a business card to the windshield.

But, I must confess, I did feel a little awkward as an elderly gentleman walked up and asked what I was doing. However, what followed was a warm interesting conversation. He IS (note present tense) a Marine and was excited to learn ways on how to politically save his country today!

He will be at our Saturday morning meeting tomorrow.  Are you still looking for vets?   He's not happy about what he knows about Duckworth, but is not sure he lives in IL district 8.

It was a coinsidence I met this man.  I had just purchased the patriotic paper for my Joe Walsh Meet n Greet!

Kathy

Hi Carol
I was told about the West Suburban Patriots by my cousin Hilary Till who is a member.
We stay in close touch despite the distance. I know Chicago & was over for two weeks last year, staying up in Lake Forrest.

I am very interested in American history as I see it as an extension of our own. Your system of government & law derives in many ways from ours, I think of the US as an UK Mk 2, the new improved version. We had our Bil of Rights, Magna Carta, Act of Settlement, but instead of revering them the British has been very complacent & allowed their Executive Branch of government to tear them up. We never had people of the stature of your Founding Fathers to ensure our liberties were valued as they should have been.

I am very glad to see the Tea Party movement reminding American citizans of the values the Founding Fathers tought. Unfortunatley, I don't see much apetite for a Tea Part over here. We have quite a biased media, but even conservatives love the Welfare State, the National Health Service etc. The incoming Conservative Government even made the National Health Service, the only branch of government that would escape the nessesary public spending cuts. We are constantly being told that the Tea Party is an extreme Right Wing organisation, full of racists etc.

So good luck & I wish you well in your work in Illinois, a State so mired in corruption/poor government, and in Chicago, the City I love.

Timothy
